Testimonials

“Amelia was fantastic! Our daughters lacked confidence going into their GCSE Maths, but with Amelia’s patient guidance and personalised approach, they both achieved their goal of a Level 8 grade. Her clear explanations and positive attitude made even the most complex concepts understandable and boosted their motivation. We highly recommend Amelia, thank you.” MC (parent of two girls in GCSE group.)

“Just found out H was awarded scholarship with 90% bursary from Clifton!! They love him!!! A special nod to Amelia for pulling a crack team together. We would like to thank you again for all your work to prepare H. I’m not sure we would have done it without all your wisdom behind us. Thank you for helping to make this process even more of a success that I could have imagined.” (abridged) AD (parent of year 6 student 2024)

“Amelia is supporting my son with his A level Further Maths. The sessions are structured and well planned and my son is feeling much more confident in the topics they have covered together. Crucially, he enjoys the sessions and looks forward to them each week and I am sure they will have a positive impact on his results.” (parent of FM student 2024)

“We are pleased to advise you that H secured his place at Poole Grammar.

We would again like to take this opportunity in thanking you for all your help in achieving this great result.” LH (parent of a group 11+ student)

“L got a 9 in both maths and further maths so she’s very pleased! Thanks for all your help 😊” ND (parent of GCSE student 2023)

“My son went up two GCSE grades just three months after joining your group sessions. He has regained the confidence he lost in maths and physics. I can’t thank you enough.” JC (Parent of student in GCSE group 2023)

“Just wanted to say thanks for all you have done for Oliver. What ever the outcome he’s never once moaned about coming to your lessons and has learnt heaps. You have a great way of getting them all to listen and learn. I would recommend you and Deirdre to anyone who was doing 11+. Many thanks.” EH (parent of child in grammar test group) 2022

” Just thought I would let you know the upshot of the 11 plus exams. In the end my daughter was offered places at all the schools we applied for (Roedean, Queen’s College, Godolphin & Latymer, and South Hampstead). She also got a major academic scholarship at Queen’s.” SD (parent of 11+ student ) 2022

“I just wanted to write to you to say that your tuitions have really helped my son. He has moved up a set last week as he is doing really well in class. Thank you so much for your guidance and help. We really appreciate it.” RD 2021

“My son undertook a mock test with Amelia. This was fantastic practice, as it was under exam conditions and it gave us an idea on his level of ability. Amelia and Deidre moved around their schedules and worked intensively with my son to get him ready for a grammar test as it was getting near the end of term, so I wanted to put him in for it as soon as possible. And he passed! He even went above the waiting list score so got an immediate place. We were overjoyed. Thank you so much, he couldn’t have done it without you!” J Crump 2021

“We just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help over the years, both with my children – they have both really enjoyed their lessons & found your help invaluable!” (mother of GCSE and A level students) 2021

“From struggling in further maths, Amelia helped me move from a C/D grade to an A, by both challenging me with questions that required complete understanding of the topics and providing support and guidance to be able to tackle such problems, increasing my confidence.” (James A Level Further Maths 2020)

“Thank you so much for the tutoring service you have delivered with flexibility and such clarity for my daughter. You have certainly increased both her understanding of Maths and her confidence. Her tutor has certainly noticed her changed Maths results. Very best wishes and sending our extreme gratitude! It must be so rewarding to see the difference you are making! ”
(AW, mother of A level Maths student 2019)

“Amelia at South Coast Tutors is fantastic, can’t recommend her highly enough. My daughter loves her sessions with her and has grown massively in confidence with maths, verbal reasoning and non verbal reasoning since being tutored by Amelia. She is brilliant at tailoring sessions to each individual child’s needs. My daughter has successfully passed the 11+ and ISEB pre test with Amelia’s help.” (Lauren Wood, mother of 11+/ISEB student, 2018 – and back in 2024 for GCSEs)
