A number of universities now set additional tests for students wanting to apply for undergraduate courses in Mathematics. The most common of these are MAT, STEP, and AEA.

Medical students often need to take one or more of BMAT, GAMSAT, HPAT, UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT) requiring some mathematics.

Some other courses require potential students to pass Numeracy or Mathematics, for example Nursing or Teacher Training courses.
